Google Docs is an online word processing tool. It is widely used by mobile and desktop users. It is meant to create and format word document online. You can collaborate with others in real-time. You can also convert a document to Google Docs format by simple uploading it.

Voice Typing
Google Docs has introduced a new feature of voice typing. Now you can simple simply to type the word document. It can be accessed from Tools-Voice Typing. It will open a small window with an option to turn you mic on or off. It is the most convenient way to type a lengthy document. Give it a try and you will love it.

Clear Formatting
It is another great feature of Google Docs. You must have experience that when you copy and paste a specific block of text to your document, it is pre-formatted. Now you can remove the formatting by simply selecting the text and click on Clear Formatting. You can also access it through Format-Clear Formatting.

Better Collaboration
When you share some document or working on a shared document, you can easily track changes by enabling Edit Mode. This feature is termed as Suggestion Mode. To enable this feature, click the Pencil Button and click Suggesting.

Tagging
Now, you can Tag anyone, so that your comment can draw attention. ‘@’ and ‘+’ sign following the username will enable this feature. An email will be sent to a user about your recent comments.

Bookmarks
Bookmarks can be added to long documents to prevent bulky scrolls. To access this feature, you simply have to go Insert-Bookmark. Bookmarks make navigation in a long document much easy and will save your precious time.

Offline Mode
How can I use Google Docs, if I don’t have internet access? It is the most widely asked question. You must be surprised that although Google Docs is an online word processing tool yet you can use it offline. You can access this feature by clicking Settings-Offline-"Sync Google Docs, Sheets, Slides & Drawings files to this computer so that you can edit offline." One you get connected to the internet, all your changes will be synced automatically.

Better Substitutions
You can add your own substitution text to Google Docs e.g. you want that whenever you write comp, it should be converted into a computer. To do this simply click Tools-Preferences and add your substitution.

Research
You can take advantage of Google Research by simply selecting the specific text and right click Research. It will open Google search of the specified text in the right pane and you can drag text and images to your document easily.

Revision History
Revision history is one the most powerful feature of Google Docs. You can access it by clicking File-See Revision history. It will display time-stamped versions in chronological order.
