Notification was one of the main
features of Facebook, as it will notify you about the information you love.
Facebook has launched ‘Notify’ in 2015. We can create our personalized blend of
notifications. Notify also provides station suggestions according to our
preferences. We received notifications right to our lock screen. ‘Notify’ has
been downloaded 63,000 times.
Unfortunately, Facebook has
decided to kill this fantastic app and some of its features will be merged in
Facebook default app. Most affected are those publishers who were on ‘Notify’.
Now they want there followers to like their pages so that they can stay in
contact.
Now Twitter has advantage over Facebook
in controlling Real-Time news. It is worth mentioning here, that Facebook uses
standalone apps to experiment and then integrate core functions in default app.
We have many examples like Facebook Camera, Drawing tools etc. We are hopeful
that we will see ‘Notify’ features in Facebook soon.
